Transforming an ETH Start-Up into a global leader in intelligent last-mile delivery robotics


For an emerging robotics-company like RIVR to succeed in a dynamic, billion-dollar market with ever-changing needs, a strong brand identity from an early stage is crucial. This creates a shared understanding and provides guidance for all future decisions. It also fosters customers, partners, and investors to recognise the value of the brand and its solutions, encouraging acceptance of robots in modern society and driving RIVR’s transformation from an ETH start-up into a global leader in intelligent last-mile delivery robotics.

To bring this aspiration to life, we developed RIVR’s brand experience around the core idea of continuous learning, reflecting connectivity, flow and adaptability. The name and the design are inspired by the agile and dedicated nature of a river, symbolizing the robots' ability to adapt, as well as the brand's evolving spirit, featuring interactive pointers derived from the RIVR monogram that engage with their surroundings. The bold yellow colour sets a positive, progressive tone in the near-future delivery sector.

Within three years since its foundation, RIVR is valued at 100 million USD, backed by lead investor Jeff Bezos and already operating across Europe and the US.
