SIG – it's time for better

 

SIG has a vision: being net positive by 2050 and becoming the sustainability leader in the industry. We translated this ambition into the core idea 'for better' making a strong statement in an industry typically characterized by precision, functionality and technology. Driven by its commitment to sustainability, the new brand tells this story in a human, dynamic and bold manner: Bundling the power of sustainability from SIG, Scholle IPN, and Evergreen Asia in a one-brand architecture and creating a new product family «terra» that can encompass any current or future sustainable packaging solution, regardless of its characteristics. This allows SIG to give its sustainable innovations a home, and to communicate them with impact and transparency.

 

A holistic brand experience driven by the attributes "human, dynamic, bold" brings 'for better' to live. Because at SIG every great idea for net-positivity starts with a scribble, we put the scribble at the center of the design experience. It conveys the message of imperfection and is never standing still. The design highlights the authenticity of SIG, which is committed to giving more to people and the planet than it takes. It also tells a story of speed and dynamism, underlining the urgency of the net-positivity ambition and the journey to which SIG has committed itself.

We involved colleagues and representatives from across the organization - from SIG, Scholle IPN, and Evergreen Asia - early in the creation of the new brand. In order for SIG to fully deliver on the brand promise of "for better", it was crucial to take every employee on the evolving 'for better' brand journey and continuously empower them to live the shared SIG spirit to the tips of their hair. To mark the beginning of this new chapter in SIG's success story, a new SIG employee app brings everyone closer together, fosters the new community, and strengthens collaboration. The app serves as a platform to playfully learn about and engage with the new brand through stories, articles, and quizzes around "for better", ultimately empowering everyone to bring the new brand, culture, and spirit to life.​

Despite challenging market conditions, SIG has recorded steady and solid growth since 2023 and is the world's second-largest packaging manufacturer after Tetra Pak.
